Snow, snow and more snow...

Figured I should blog since it's been 6 months since the last time! :-P
------
It's been snowing the past 3 days. Which is so weird around these parts! I grew up in a place where it snowed off and on all winter long from November to March/April, sometimes May, but here it normally dumps 2 or 3 inches (maybe 5 or 6) once a year and that's it. Last time we measured we had about a foot. Craziness I tell you!

 ------
In other news, my Dad is doing really well. He had a stroke a month ago and has been getting better and better every day. He's using a walker, speech is getting better and he's getting stronger and stronger. It was such hard news to receive at first. It's hard to receive news like that about someone you love because you have no control over the situation...which puts you in a place to trust in God more or turn away. Over the last month I've spent a lot of time with my Mom, my brothers Andrew and Cameron, my sister Annie and nephew Holden and the Lord! It was such an awful reason to bring all of us together but so good to be with each other and with my Dad to help and support him and our Mom however we can. Please keep lifting him up in your prayers, he's still got a ways to go!
------
We just recently started a new book in our Moms group Bible Study and the first chapter was about Eve. The first woman, the first help-mate, the first mother, the first person to sin.... I like how I'm able to relate to her as a woman, a wife, a mom, and a....sinner. She was the first to be tempted by the devil and give into his lies. Right after her story it went on to talk about Jesus and how he reacted and responded to Satan when he tried to trick and lure him into sin. He responded with God's word and truth instantly. He didn't waver or falter. He put Satan in his place and showed him who God was! God always give us a way out. A way out of the temptation and a chance to look to Him and His truths. But we're human and so sinful that it's just too darn easy to give into that temptation sometimes...or most of the time....or all of the time. Definitely something that has been challenging me!

Caden and Em are growing like crazy. Hard to believe that Caden is going to be 5 in 2 months and Em will be 3 shortly after.
Here are a few things they're up to these days:
Caden is really into playing Angry Birds, building with his Legos and doing puzzles right now. He knows how to write his name in capital letters and is getting close with doing it in lowercase letters. He does good with "lessons" but gets bored quickly when he's writing his letters and numbers. One day at a time! He's been a really good helper with taking care of the dogs, dishes, laundry, etc.
Em is really into dress up (or as she calls it "Halloween"), dancing, and making "food". Em is wanting to help me in the kitchen all the time and she's getting pretty good at it. She's also showing her independence and wants to do everything by herself. We've tried potty training a couple times but she's just not connecting the dots yet. Her most used words are "my" instead of "I", "tiny bit", "super" and "really".

I love this picture of the 2 of them!

Talk to you guys later....after we've dug ourselves out of all this snow. Geesh!
